jeremy olson
|
Jeremy Olson was born 1976 in Ojai CALive. Jeremy Olson is a Brooklyn, NY, United States photographer. Jeremy Olson
I chose this particular photograph work from Jeremy Olson because I found his work unusual and very unique in the way that he approached his photography. He has taken images and made one image from many images. it is like a collage but it is in a unusual positioning. Most of Jeremy Olson Jeremy Olson photos are portraits and they are all made of one persons face with multiple photos taken in different angles and distance away from the subject then all the photographs are cut up ad place together to create these photographs (many of these photos are placed in a scattered manner). the background of the images are different depending on the photograph for example one photo can have have a vibrant, then look at another photograph the background can be plain a simple it could be a dual colour or plain white, each background makes the photographs stand out. The composition of the photos are very well thought through and placed in a very detailed manner. |
David Hockney
David Hockney was born on 9th July 1937 in Bradford England. David Hockney is an english painter, printmaker, photographer, stage designer and a draughtsman.
I chose this particular photography work from David Hockney because I found it unusual in the way that he has approached his photography in this way. He has taken images and made one image from many images, it is like a collage. Some of them are portraits which have been cut up and rearranged in a particular order and some are rearranged in a very random, scattered manner. I would like to make my first experiment by taking photos of my fellow students and perhaps teachers and rearrange them into collages which are similar. The colours within his photographs are vibrant, they really stand out and are bold. I am not sure whether I want to take images in black and white or colour yet. The compositions within his photographs are all thought about very carefully, they are imaginative and creative. The background of the images always seem quite plain, this makes the image stand out. |

My photos i will be using
these photos above i have chosen a peer from my class and asked him if he could stand still so i could take photographs of him with a white background so that i can use then in my work.
These are a few experiments which I completed by using various techniques in order to change the look on the face. I have used a cut up technique and put them back together again onto a different photo of the persons face. I also folded up the paper manny ways then i cut the face off the last photograph witch i cut up and re placed then stuck that onto the photograph that i folded up, i placed it over where the face should be to create the photograph on the top right. these photo i have changed looks distorted. also there all in colour witch makes them stand out also every single photography there has the same blue polo t-shirt. the composition of these photographs i tried to make centered. all these photos stand out because they are not normal and it is something unexacting. I would like to experiment further by using Photoshop or other programs for digital experimentation.
these are a few of my experiments witch i have completed by using various techniques on photoshop in order to change the look on the face. i have use crop and dragging method and placing it over the face and placing it mostly into the centre to create the look of all there on the first photograph i desired to duplicate the photograph and the fade it out then crop triangle part of another photo and place it onto the photograph and i was trying to make it look like it was a smashed or cracked window. On the second photograph i did the same as a i did to the first photo but i didn't duplicate the photograph and i only did triangle cropping shape and placed it over the photograph and tried to line some parts of the face. On the 3 Photograph i cropped 9 triangle and pointed the point of the triangles into the centre of the face and placed it onto the photograph and the did it again but i rotated the photograph 90 degrees CW and cropped the 9 triangle with are all pointing to the centre of the face and then i placed it over the background and placed it on the centre of the face . i repeated this again but i rotated the photography another 90 degrees and did the same as i did to the last layer but the cropped 90 degrees CW . these are screenshots of how i have done this, but on the 3 photo i have chosen to fade each layer and also to keep all the layers the same opacity.
The final photos i have made via using a program called photoshop. i have made all of these 5 images and i will use these in a final peace. i will mount these and use these as 1 out of my 3 experiments
Lorenzo Vitturi |
Lorenzo Vitturi first published a book in 2013 and it was all of his photographs in a book not in a gallery witch makes Lorenzo Vitturi diffrent from another photographer. Lorenzo Vitturi started making his make shift sculptures in his in his studio until they started to make the place smell, then he took the to his flat and started to make them in a corner of is flat and he only had a limited time to complete his sculptures because he used rotten or decaying fruit or veg fro,m the market. he mostly use only objects or anything he found interesting from the market because he was only focussing on the market witch was at the time his place that he was living at. he choses to focuses on the market because he like how it was a multi culture area. most of is photographs was t try and show that the market was full of different people and environment and people to meet. he liked to use food from each culture that was at the market to show that all of the cultures wok as one.
I have chosen this particular photography work from lorenzo vitturi because I found it unusual in the way that he has approached his photography in this way that i haven't see a photographer approach a street market in this way before because he uses people from the market and produces and objects from the market to make his photographs also he has constricted on the blue bag in the man head in this photograph, he has use the man and blue bag on his head and made the sculpture on the left witch would of only lasted a short time after he has finished making the sculpture. |
The Photos above are screenshots of the process of how i cropped the photographs and how i placed them them onto the other photograph and then how i placed then and i did this in many ways to create all of my 3 different photographs using photoshop
Thease photos below are photogra[hs i took on my trip to the photographers gallery. I have photographs of Insaid the photographsers gallery and i have also got photographs f outside the photographers gallery. i took photographs on the way to the photographers gallery and then i took photogtraphs insaid the photographers gallery, then i took photographs on the way back to school from leaving the photographers gallery.
Final Evaluation
I chose to do fragments for this project because i like they way that you can change photographs and how they can be cut up or photoshop to look like something else and that i thought this could be something challenging for me to do and if i did complete this i would have a good outcome.
The first experiments which I attempted were i cut up photographs that i have taken of a fellow student and then printed the photographs and looked at them and choose what ones i should use and then i created the 5 peaces above.because I was inspired by the artist David Hockney and Jeremy Orson because i found that there work was eye-catching and it wasn't something you wouldn't see in a day to day life and i found them interesting
I then decided to move onto another medium, Photoshop because I wanted to experiment with
I then experimented further with photoshop because i wanted to change the images and try and recreate one of the photographs that David Hockney have taken but i put a twist on it and created my final designs.
